Conscious Oral sedation is now the most common technique used in the United State to quell patient fears. The technique is easy and requires no needles. About thirty minutes prior to your dental visit you take a couple of small blue pills. Halcion (Triazolam) is the most commonly used drug for sedation dentistry. This medication creates such a comfortable experience that most patients do not remember the visit; it is as if they slept through the treatment. In reality, oral sedation dentistry maintains a level of consciousness in the patient for safety and cooperation. You are able to talk and move around; however, because of the effect of the medication, you may not remember much at all. During your treatment, we will monitor your pulse, oxygen saturation rate, and your blood pressure. We never leave your side.
