A recent innovation now available at Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry is the Cerec one visit crown.  This crown is milled by a computer to fit your tooth precisely, thus eliminating the laboratory step in manufacturing the crown.  With Cerec's CAD-CAM technology, the crown is made by a computer while you wait, thus eliminating the second appointment and the need for a temporary crown.  These Cerec crowns are milled out of pure ceramic.

There are several advantages to the patient for having a Cerec crown placed:

• The crown is made in one visit, eliminating the need for a second visit.
• There is no need for a temporary crown.  This significant benefit eliminates the need for taking an impression of the tooth.  This is often the most uncomfortable part of the crown procedure. 
• Cerec crowns have no metal in them and thus are remarkably cosmetic.
